At the heart of everything Innocent Drinks does is sustainability of the planet. They are a key B Corp business, committed to being carbon neutral by 2025. To achieve this goal they need control over their product and therefore needed to shift to in-house production. By manufacturing their own product they can drive forward sustainability targets.
The project supports this objective both in creation of the factory as well as its on-going operation. The Blender will be ‘The Earth’s favourite little healthy drinks factory’. The blending and filling business will enable Innocent to have complete control of their product. Combining these facilities on one site transforms the supply logistics, thereby reducing road miles of the drinks by at least 25%.
Every part of the factory project will be assessed against their green agenda. The key aim is to be carbon-neutral.

The first bottles have started coming off the filling line at the new state-of-the art carbon-neutral manufacturing plant, ‘the blender’. Located in the strategic food hub in the Port of Rotterdam, Innocent Drinks has managed to decarbonise a significant proportion of their supply chain. It truly is the earth’s most sustainable healthy drinks factory, able to produce up to 300 million litres per year.
Working in partnership with Integrated Food Projects and other industry experts, Candrew Consulting was an integral part of the team that helped Innocent Drinks to place sustainability at the very heart of the project from day one – from planning to design, through to the build and operational running of the factory.
The next stage of the manufacturing plant is to complete the onsite renewable energy scheme. Candrew Consulting has been kept on to oversee procurement of two wind turbines as part of the green energy mix.
